My Dad hold a family meeting this morning and he takes us out for lunch. Aunt is going back to TPE and my parents will take care of Grandparents from now on. 3rd uncle won't take Grandpa home, they will take Grandma and leave Grandpa for 2nd uncle. Therefore, 3rd uncle's proposal is out of consideration. But the family meeting turn into gossip forum and they go so far and nothing is sorted. Nearly 3 hours nagging, finally, they come to the point- where to keep Grandparents. They follow Grandma's wish, Grandparents will stay with my parents.
Somehow, I feel sad for Grandparents and my parents. For Grandpa, he worked for this family and raised 4 kids up .Now, he is on wheel chair and his favourite kid think he's a cumbersome obligation. For Grandma, I don't know if she still remembers her responsibility for being a wife. For a 80-yr-old woman, she should know better that never take meat out of tiger's mouth (you don't bite the hand that feeds you). They are my elders and I only can do my best to follow their will. But, I do concern about my parents' health. Grandma's well known on nagging. It is matter of time how long this problem will come out again. Actually, my family was in this ditch a decade ago. Well, let's see how long this peace can go for. But look at this way, uncles and aunt have inheritage & provide obligation. Dad gets nothing from this family, therefore, he rears his folks for being the eldest son's duty. That should shut Grandma off for a while. I can't stop wondering if this kind of thing will happen on my parents...
For Dad, I know you have explained the Irish retirement plan. But, you know, your room is always there and ready for you. Ian, you too. And Mags too.
