LAX - Day 1

Alright, even I plan so long to pack, but I start to complete packing in the morning of departure. So, it is a bit mess and tide up on schedule. I can't have time to go for hairdresser...@_@!!!

It's Mother's day, Mom prepares a big meal before we go. Salmon, tiger shirmp, bamboo rib soup, all our favourite food...oh, she makes it more difficult to leave. Grandparents enjoy the meal, we keep them busy, so no more question about our trip to LAX. We have been explained to granny about time zone, location, flight and most of thing regarding this trip. She couldn't understand why DC works so late coz of DUB office hours or how can we arrive LAX couple hours earlier than our departure time in KHH. For granny Lin, it's a lot of things to fill in. Oh, I miss granny Chen, she was so smart and good in packing which she teached me when I was little. I used to travel with her from North to South of TW, to visit most of relatives during summer / winter breaks. Oh, I miss that good old day. I could have a big apple during travelling, avoiding car sick.

We should check-in 3 hours in advance, but we just make it enough time to check in our bags and run to gate. It's no problem in KHH, the queue up problem is in CKS. We queue nearly an hour to go thru security and the problem is not on security, it's ppl keeps breaking the line. Some of them won't even listen to the others. We keep silence, but the others yell in different languge to protest on breaking the queue, but those ppl just couldn't understand or they are shameless. There is no one to rule the way to queue up. I think it doesn't happen today on us only, it happens every single flight, every single day and CKS airport has to take care of it.

The flight is alright, but we couldn't sleep, 12 hours, so, we watch all the movies. Great! I can have my own screen and video games. It keeps me busy, oh, the cup noodles tastes good too. And there is a channel which can see outside of the flight, it's more excited during take off and landing. Finally, we land in LAX, but we wait for the gate on run way for more than half an hour. I guess it won't be problem here, coz it has so many terminals and gates. Oh, it's a good start!

There are three 747 landing in the same time, so the custom is very busy, we queue up nearly an hour to get throught. The custom officer is very gentle and funny, better than our previous experience. It's a good start! I like it! When we finally make it to claim luggage, our suitcases are on the floor already, the luggage rack has stopped for a while. From landing to claim luggage, we spend nearly 2 hours. In the meanwhile, Dad & Ian just land. So, we wait for them and get a van to go. It's a good start! LAX, we are all here!

Back to hotel, there is a problem. It looks like my suitcase and it is NOT mine. Someone picks up my suitcase! I got the wrong one! Since I know this, I have tried to contact CA for 2 hours and no one is at work! I can't go back to LAX airport now! Oh, I am so desperate! So, I call TPE office to leave message for whoever work in LAX luggage office. Also trace down the girl who might has my suitcase and TPE office will contact her if there is any luck! Lucky me, all the thing I need for exhibition is in my hand carry. Otherwise, DC will be explored! I know, I should check the name rack when I pick up luggage! I haven't close my eye for 24 hours, I am excited to be in LAX, it just a tiny name tag, I don't check! Oh, cross fingers and touch wood! I want my suitcase back!
