Farm visiting

It's 2nd day of Golden Pig Year. Mark & Joan take Daniel and Duncan back to Joan's parents' house. Mia's the new member and her family is too far away. So, Chris and Mia stay with us. Dad takes the opportunity to take us for a visit - Turtle Farm. One day biology class.
Meinong town is nearby, therefore, we go for Hakka cousine which is Mum's favorite (Bantiao noodle). Hakka food has long been characterized by being salty, fragrant, and fatty. It's salty for being able to be preserved for a long time and to replenish the salt lost after hard farm work. It's fatty also because Hakka people's work requires much physical strength and need to supplement their physical strength. It's fragrant so that it can raise appetite and become more filling. Besides, Hakka food is mostly made of hard foodstuff (dried squid for example), that's why they pay special attention to the handling of fragrance.
There are pics Chris & Mia grinding. A sip of Hakka ground tea (Leicha) with rice flavor accompanied by refection makes you feel blissful at heart, and the process of preparing DIY tea is full of fun. The best way to enjoy the Leicha is to grind tea with couple of companions in big ceramic mortars while chatting. Each shop has its own secret recipe, but not too much different from each other. The common ingredients are peanuts, red beans, green bean powder, sesame seeds and so on. And then pull boiling water to serve. It's very filling.
DC's dessert is Lumpia with 2 scoops of ice cream, chopped coriander and dusting in granulated sugar. And yes, we love it so much...
