First fine on speeding

Another sleepless night. It's a problem for me now. I reconize the bed, although I have been on the same bed for 2 nights, but it's still on trial. Anyway, it is the morning and we are going home. The weather forecast said the weather would be good during the weekend. Well, it was OK, but a bit chilly and cloudy.

On the way back, after Dung Shan station, I speed up coz there is a truck in front. While I am going to turn into the slow lane, too late, policeman gets me. 124 km/hr. But I am in insdie lane, so it takes me a while to come outside land, plus there is a bit traffic on road. Of course, policeman asks for my driving licence and car certificate. He is swearing at me for making him drive couple km away from where he was and a 5-minute lecture for speeding. I am ok with the fine coz he got me but I don't agree on his language. However, I am disappointed on my first time experience on my first fine. Since I received my driving licence, until now, 15 years in 20 countries, it is my first fine and the TW policeman is very rude.

Another terrible experience with men in uniform will be the USA customshouse. I was with DC and we were asked for very personal details in front of custom desk while arrival. I understand the importance to know the guest more but the questions are too personal. Why should I tell if I am pregnant or not? Why should I tell if I am sure DC is my hubby? Why should I tell how I reconize him? With entrance photo and finger prints, I can say no more. But also, I met a very funny USA policeman in SAF airport. We were on the long queue for X-ray, this tall white policeman was telling jokes and singing songs to make time go faster.

By the way, I don't agree with taking off shoes for X-ray. At least, they should change the carpet from time to time or spray something on the carpet to kill the bacteria. Those policemen take it as fun to see ppl take off shoes and scoff at them. Anyway, I cross fingers and touch wood, hopefully, I don't need to go to USA too often.

Another good news, well, I think it is good: From 20th April, the penalty increases.

• For speeding => 6K NTD + (Speeding - limit speed)*100 NTD.
• Cross the white stop line while waiting for red light turn green => 900 NTD
• Turn right while it is red light => 5,400 NTD
• 3 times turn right while red light => Terminate driving licence
• Break red light => 3,600 - 7,200 NTD
• No seatbelt => 1,500 NTD
• Left kid in car alone => 3K NTD
