Happy St. Patrick's Day - part II

It's so unfair. We are in KHH with 28 degrees heat and they are celebrating in DUB with Guinness and with SNOW!!! Thanks for Mag's parcel, so we can decorate a bit for St. Patrick's Day. Although we can be there for parade, but we will drive through KHH to show Irish attitude, especially DC will pay a visit to the pig & whistle. You guys, you have been that British pub after our wedding.

St. Patrick's Day Parade 2006

Start Date: Friday, March 17, 2006
End Date: Friday, March 17, 2006
Venue: Dublin City Centre

The city centre streets are closed to traffic; is this just “Wishful Thinking”? There are 700,000 people lining the streets dressed “Head to Toe” in green, the sun is beaming in the sky. Is Green the new brown? In the distance you can hear the hum of music and the sound of 3,000 pairs of feet……it’s St. Patrick’s Day and it’s time for the world famous St. Patrick’s Festival Parade.
For two hours you will be entertained by an awesome display of creative talent as the national St. Patrick's Festival Parade snakes it’s way through the city centre. International and Irish marching bands join performers, dancers and street theatre companies to present a wonderfully entertaining parade.
The parade is a piece of moving theatre, complete with it’s own Creative Director. Colourful costumes, flamboyant performances and outstanding musical talent will be on show. Bring your camera, there will be amazing sights to capture.
An important part of the day is the presentation of special Parade Awards. During the St. Patrick’s Festival Parade performers are judged and eight awards are presented at the end of the Parade. Awards are decided on the basis of merit and achievement. Pageant companies, musicians and performers put in months even years of preparation for the national St. Patrick’s Festival Parade.

Poise, posture and good hand, back, leg and foot positioning were required on Thursday, March 17, as the Irish Jobs.ie C?il? M?r swung into action.
From 2.30 to 6pm on St. Patrick's Day, the sound of traffic around the City Centre was diminished, and a more cultural beat dominated, as thousands of tapping feet (and clapping hands) gave all they had to the Irish Jobs.ie C?il? M?r.
P?id? ? Lion?ird was the MC on the day. The experienced and inexperienced joined forces and stomped up a storm to rival any Riverdance. Kilfenora C?il? Band, Seamus Begley and Irish Dancers will be there to infect you with the joy of the traditional Irish c?il?.
An Ancient Art
For visitors to the country, c?il? means a gathering with music, song, dancing, and participation by all attendees. So, do not let inexperience stop you, as we will show you what to. Lots of people are very surprised at how quickly they pick up the necessities.
C?il?s feature a range of structured dances such as round dances, line dances, and progressive line dances performed in groups of varied numbers.
