Chinese New Year - Day 7/8/9

The 7th day from New Year is the birthday of human being. In antient Chinese saying, God made chicken first, and then dogs, pigs, sheeps, cows, horses, people and then grain. So the 7th Jan is the birthday of human.
There is nothing on for the 8th day, but food shopping is necessary. Be course, market runs as usual, time for shopping after a week stucking at home and tonight is important for Chinese - The brithday of God 天公生. People start to offer sacrifices to the God (top one) after midnight. Some people will start from 11PM - count on Chinese time which only has 12 hours a day. On the 9th day, female underwear is banned to be under sky / in public, even laundry. It depends on variety of meat was provided to prepare number of glass for rice wine or cup for tea/birthday noodles. After this ceremony is done, time fore fireworks again but short, to send God off.
Daniel is eating Chinese Date (棗子 Jujube) after dinner. It was from India since 1944. Nowaday, TW can collect 3 times per year. We prefer to take it during winter, like the old time. It is used to mean making good thing happen earlier, such like having a baby; people like to take this date in wedding or New Year. I don't like to see my Ma's look when she hangs this fruit over this time.
