Hang out place

Church bells ring on every hour to tell the time. Even on RTE, there is a break with church bell rings in background at noon and 6PM before news is on. While I was watching "EastEnders", I realised kitchen or dinning area is the place to chat. Unlike TW, we sit down and chat in living room. The hospitality is the same but different way to serve. Oh, let's start from answering the door.
TW: "Have you eaten yet?" Tranditional greeting way in Taiwanese. If yes, hostess will cook something fast and ready to serve on dinner table. If not, hostess will prepare 2-3 kind of fruit sliced and host will boil water to serve tea in living room. In KHH, there is a high population density, therefore, apartments everywhere. Therefore, sometimes, volume control is necessary.
The drink selection is limited, just water or green tea. Well, maybe it's the reason to have 24-hour-run convienience store on every single block to get emergency alcohole requirement.
TW's house is designed to seperate public and private areas, therefore, guest only can go between living room and toilet without seeing other rooms. My room was the most sercured in the house, only my Ma and my invited girlfriends can come in my room.
IE: "Have a cup of tea?" Most chance to hear in greeting. And then, choice to make your cup of tea: milk / sugar / lemon. Most of time, you get sandwich as snack. From house to house, there is garden between. Therefore, volumn is not issue. Sometimes, in downtown, people come out from pub after last order (11:30PM), they do TALK very loud.
Oh, the various drink selection starts from soft drink to alcochol. People prefere to stay around dinning table or kitchen to chat. Before holiday starts, family stores beverage coz ALL shops close for bank holiday.
Most of houses is small, therefore, pretty easy to see all rooms. Plus kids like to show their room and give a house tour. Sorry Hannah, we took your room for couple days.Alright, that's all I can think of or see, for now. DC is making Chili lamb, yummy!
