Local market

This morning, due to jet lag, I was up at 5AM AGAIN!!! Of course, even typing in bedroom can wake up DC too. So, I woke him up and tolled him to local market before he headed to work. Actually, I still had no clue where I am around. However, I am working on it! At least by the end of today, I know my way from IC's place to St. Steven's Green which turned out as a big milestone.
The Meatch street market is where Coffey grow up. They do grocery shopping and even get married in the church in the corner. Generation after generation, trandition carries on. There is a butcher shop where Coffey got meat from. DC is addicted to its sausages. Also the butcher's son was DC's classmate in primary school. In old Dublin, there is no supermarket, people do their shopping on street like in Taiwan. Nowaday, city closed down the market place, so it moves on the street but maintains its character.
Dublin is expending by size /population and surfering from inflation. Some of DC's friends have got notice that they will move out their government flat in a month and move into new government build house with garden. Irish doesn't have the kind of thinking to own a house as Taiwanese. Real estate just takes off these years, but it goes too far this year. I saw a talk show that TV channel were introducing where to get re-finance assitant in stead of get a private loan for X'mas. X'mas is a big holiday for religious Irish. It must takes a lot for TV channel to step out and tell people where to get help. It's so true, Irish bank has high requirment for opening a bank acount for good reason- to avoid money laundry. But those low income families are one kind of potential market. Banker must be able to come out with win-win proposal.
It's the last day for posting if you want to let your friends received postcard / parcel before X'mas day. The post officer was saying the office went crazy a week ahead. People send X'mas card and parcel, and new thing is E-shopping. Well, I don't really trust E-shopping but I'm trying it. Think in this way, you order on line and they do home delivery - Save you a trip to pack the gift and bring it over to give away. Isn't it getting easiler?
