鵲橋仙 Fairy of The Magpie Bridge


One of the most famous poems about the legend was written by Qin Guan of in the Song Dynasty (960-1279).

Fairy Of The Magpie Bridge

Among the beautiful clouds, Over the heavenly river, Crosses the weaving maiden.
A night of rendezvous, Across the autumn sky, Surpasses joy on earth.
Moments of tender love and dream, So sad to leave the magpie bridge.
Eternal love between us two, Shall withstand the time apart. (Translated by Kylie Hsu)

鵲橋仙（ 宋 ） 秦 觀 （ 一 ○ 四 九 ~ 一 一 ○ 一 ）
纖 雲 弄 巧 ， 飛 星 傳 恨 ， 銀 漢 迢 迢 暗 渡 。
金 風 玉 露 一 相 逢 ， 便 勝 卻 人 間 無 數 。
柔 情 似 水 ， 佳 期 如 夢 ， 忍 顧 鵲 橋 歸 路 。
兩 情 若 是 久 長 時 ， 又 豈 在 朝 朝 暮 暮 。
